The suspect in a taking pictures close to Los Angeles – during which 10 individuals have been killed and one other 10 wounded – has been discovered lifeless by the police.

He was discovered with a self-inflicted gunshot wound inside a white van, LA County Sheriff Robert Luna stated.

Armed police had surrounded the van in a carpark in Torrance, about 30 miles (48km) from the scene of the taking pictures in Monterey Park.

Police have recognized the suspected gunman as Huu Can Tran, aged 72.

The mass taking pictures occurred at a dance venue in Monterey Park in the course of the Lunar New 12 months celebrations.
